Deep Thoughts Only Partially Influenced by Wine

"Where there is impossibility, there is possibility; and where there is possibility, there is impossibility. It is because there is right, that there is wrong; it is because there is wrong, there is right...Thereupon the self is also the other; the other is also the self." --Zhuangzi

MicroStrategy World here I come....

OK,
There is this one opportunity to get away from work while still technically being at work. I am hardly intending to complain of course, but I am admittedly not much for being put in the same place as 5000+ other geeks who tend to brag about the networks they have put together, how well they can administrate, or what other "amazing" thing they have been able to do with this tool called 'MicroStrategy'. MicroStrategy is basically your standard tool for making data pretty though it does so in a very illogical way. I am not inclined to brag about how illogical I am or how well I work with illogical things or illogical people so... I go, I learn a new technique or two and talk to anyone willing to NOT, I repeat, NOT talk about MicroStrategy. It pays my bills, but that is about it. Last year, I spent some time over drinks talking to a gal from Northern California (worked for Bank of America) about growing up watching the thrills of minor league baseball. For those of you who have only seen a major league baseball game, find a small city on the map sometime, go there, and take in the experience of a minor league game sometime. They are better if you are a kid, but some of us do not have that option anymore. I, on the otherhand, subscribe to the 'Toys 'R Us' concept! I will describe the minor league experience to you all in detail sometime later. Anyhow, hopefully she will be around or there will be anyone else around of similar mentality. I do plan on meeting up with some people I cruised with a few weeks ago, but they work most of the time I am there it would seem anyhow.

Philosophical Thought for the Day

From time to time I wonder what it would be like if well known philosophical statements were changed around a bit to more identify with what I do.... Take 'I Think, Therefore, I Am'....
Often, I simply ponder.... 'I Ponder, Therefore, I Might Be' seems to work better for me...
but then again, I often snicker.... Does this mean I am a candy bar?

Finally a bit of freedom

Well, after recovering from the flu and catching up with things at work, at home, and getting my dad set up with his new computer, I am a bit free this afternoon. It was not all work though as Thursday evening I got the honor of being a "prop" while watching the Fountain Hills Community Theater production of "Caberet". I got to be part of the onstage audience. I guess it helps to know people.
Today it is clean the house and maybe wander around the mall to buy nothing. Wahoo!
I promise this blog thing will get interesting soon enough. I am still new to it.

First Post

I have not had any wine today yet so I cannot have any deep thoughts influenced in any manner by wine so I will post later.
